A little about me

Photography, to me, is a form of expression and relaxation. It has taken me on many adventures and has introduced me to many amazing people. This blog is where I talk about the shoots that I do and how they went, sometimes including behind-the-scenes pictures or videos! Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think! So I decided to turn this blog thing I had for a while into an active blog where I talk about my shoots and how they go and all that jazz. I figured it would help me be more interactive with people that see my work and will maybe also get me out there to shoot more!! I figured this shoot with Danielle would be a good start cause it was quite an adventure!

Warning: my grammar sucks, im sure you'll figure out what im trying to say lol

I have shot with Danielle before but it was a long time ago. We have been talking about getting together to shoot but it just never happened. So we finally made it happen. I had just bought a new lighting set up that is super powerful and had been wanting to test it out at the beach. We searching for a location for a bikini shoot, I wanted something with rocks, water and sand. I stumbled upon some pictures that were taken in Davenport, CA of these crazy arches. THIS is what the arches look like. I had to find them!!! We went to Davenport (which is north of Santa Cruz, btw) to find the arches and found the location but when we got there we saw the arches but they were WAAY Down the cliff we were standing on! We couldn't figure out how to get down! we drove further down the road and walked to the edge and there was no way to get to the beach there, we drove to the other side, same thing! Standing at the edge looking at the arches we realized there was a retarded steep sketchy trail that went along the cliff that people climb down to get to the beach! We thought about it for a bit and decided to do it! So I went back to my truck and got my gear, didnt get to use my new lights cause it was too heavy and too much gear so i packed light. Then we made our way down the cliff, sitting on our feet and sliding on the rocks, grabbing the sides as they break away into our hands. SUUUPPEERR SSKKEETTCCHH. After some time we finally made it down to the beach and it was super awesome! It was small and no one was there and the arches looked crazy!!

Here is a picture standing on the edge of the cliff looking down on the arches, and on the right is Danielle climbing the edge of the cliff lol

We explored the beach some and started shooting and got some great shots!

I really wanted to try to get a picture of her next to the arches by the water was a little to crazy...so when it calmed down for a sec i asked her to run out there and pose....that wasn't a good idea...

Yeah, bad idea lol.

Overall we got some great shots and had some fun! After this we climbed back up and went to a different location to do some shots on the cliffs with Danielle wrapped in some yellow fabric with the wind blowing it in the air, here are some of those:

**for you photography people, here is my set up shot. Nikon SB800 shot through an umbrella, triggered by Cactus V4.
