A little about me

Photography, to me, is a form of expression and relaxation. It has taken me on many adventures and has introduced me to many amazing people. This blog is where I talk about the shoots that I do and how they went, sometimes including behind-the-scenes pictures or videos! Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think! Sammie 10/22/11

Sammie contacted me on Model Mayhem to set up a shoot because she really liked my work and wanted to make some awesome pictures together. We decided to do some nice pictures in some cool locations. She wanted some kind of natury area so I suggested this cool spot in the Santa Cruz Mountains that I have discovered once before with my friend, Brent. Here is a picture that I showed her of this cool ivy patch that she instantly fell in love with!

So we went to that spot and shot some pretty cool pictures. It was a little tough at first to get a nice balance between the light coming through the trees and the flash but after some test shots, we got it right!

After the shoot in the Santa Cruz Mountains, we decided to go to a beach that I previously shot with Tina just north of Santa Cruz. Climbing down to the beach was a little tricky with all our equipment but we manage to make it down to the beach without falling lol. The beach was empty which was nice. We set up and started shooting and got some cool pictures!

This was a fun shoot and Sammie is super easy to work with! I'd like to give props to Sammie, as a plus-sized model, I applaud her total confidence and comfort with being in a swimsuit on the beach to be photographed. It takes a lot for some people to work up the confidence to go out there and do that and she did with such ease and comfort! I got a lot of compliments for shooting a plus-sized model because all you see is super skinny models which doesn't necessarily represent most of the women out there. I just like to take pictures, any shape, size, color or whatever.

Hope you enjoyed!
